Minted in 2016 by the Monnaie de Paris for the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Shrine, this 34mm mini-medal is the commemorative token of the Jubilee of Mercy.

The Jubilee of Mercy is a jubilee of the Roman Catholic Church desired by Pope Francis. It is celebrated during the Extraordinary Holy Year of 2015-2016, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council and to deepen its implementation.
The front of this coin is illustrated by the logo designed for this occasion. The inscription of the hymn "Misericordes Sicut Pater" and "Franciscus P.P." decorate the edges of the coin.

On the reverse side, the annotation "Jubilee of Mercy - Lourdes 2016" encircles the representation of the Apparition of Mary to Bernadette in the Grotto of Massabielle. Here too, the vegetation adds delicacy to the design stamped in the gilded metal.
