2019 marked the 175th anniversary of Bernadette Soubirous’s birth and the 140th anniversary of her death.

To mark this pastoral theme, the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes had the Monnaie de Paris strike this 34 mm diameter mini-medal bearing the effigy of Bernadette Soubirous.

On one side is stamped the authentic portrait of the seer of Lourdes with at the level of her cheek the mention "Lourdes 2019" and below "Year Bernadette"

On the reverse, the logo of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes is marked "2019-Bernadette Year" and "Our Lady of Lourdes".
