Pope Francis has announced a jubilee in Rome in 2025, with the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.

As it does every year, the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes has defined a pastoral theme that will become the guiding thread for all the ceremonies and celebrations during the pilgrimage year.

To echo the jubilee year announced by the Pope, the pastoral theme for 2025 is ‘With Mary, pilgrims of hope’.

This coin, minted in France by the Monnaie de Paris, illustrates this theme.

On the reverse, a beautiful engraving of the statue of the Virgin of the Grotto of Lourdes, obtained by digitising the original statue of the Grotto, is bordered by the inscription of the year's theme.

At the bottom of the coin, ‘Jubilee 2025’ is noted to indicate the year, while the notion of the year's theme borders this image of Lourdes.

On the reverse, the logos of the Monnaie de Parie and the Sanctuary are engraved on the France, a reminder that the Monnaie de Paris is above all a French institution, illustrating the exclusive provenance of this souvenir coin.
