2025, a jubilee year, will also be marked by the hundredth anniversary of the beatification of Bernadette Soubirous.

This coin, minted in France by the Monnaie de Paris, commemorates this great event.

On the reverse, a beautiful engraving depicts Bernadette, rosary in hand, in ecstasy during an apparition. This illustration was produced from a scan of the original statue of ‘Bernadette in Ecstasy’, which stands next to the church of St Bernadette, opposite the Grotto of the Apparitions. All around this engraving, with the basilicas in the background, is the inscription ‘centenary of the Beatification - Bernadette Soubirous’.

On the reverse, the logos of the Monnaie de Parie and the Sanctuary are engraved on France, a reminder that the Monnaie de Paris is first and foremost a French institution, illustrating the exclusive provenance of this souvenir coin.
