Bernadette Soubirous (1844-1879) was the daughter of a miller from Lourdes who is best known for the apparitions of a «young girl» who is none other than the Virgin Mary who will reveal her identity by presenting herself to the future Saint as the Immaculate Conception. As the apparition progressed, "Aquero" asked for the construction of a chapel near the cave of Massabielle where the apparitions took place between February 11 and July 16, 1858. Despite the initial skepticism of the Catholic Church, Soubirous’s claims were finally declared "worthy of faith" after a canonical inquiry, and the Marian apparition is now known as Our Lady of Lourdes. Rediscover all this with this richly illustrated book.
