"Do whatever he tells you" (Gospel of John, chapter 2)

Minted in 2018 by the Monnaie de Paris for the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame de Lourdes, this 34 mm mini-medal is the token commemorating the Pastoral Theme chosen for the 2018 celebrations at Lourdes.

2018 is also the 160th anniversary of the Lourdes event, and perhaps a return to our roots.


On the obverse side, the representation of the "Wedding at Cana" illustrates Mary's words, "Do whatever he tells you", inscribed around the edge of this facet.

On the reverse, the annotation "JNotre-Dame de Lourdes- Lourdes 2018" encircles the representation of Mary's Apparition to Bernadette in the Grotto of Massabielle. Here too, the vegetation adds a delicate touch to the design stamped into the gilded metal.
