February 11, 1858, Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year-old girl goes down to the "pig tutte", a dirty and muddy pasture for the town's pigs, to collect firewood for her family, one of the poorest inhabitants of the city.

In this Grotto, known as Massabielle, the Virgin appeared to him eighteen times during this year 1858.

Against all odds, authorities, well-meaning and clergy, Bernadette recounts her appearances, delivers the words of the "Lady" before taking the veil under the name of Sister Marie-Bernard.
