This book is a facsimile of the note written in 1862 by M.l'abbé Fourcade, canon secretary of the commission constituted in 1858 to ascertain the facts relating to the event of the Grotto of Lourdes. Requested and approved by the then bishop of Tarbes, this note reports in all simplicity what the commission has seen and heard and also contains the ordinance and the pastoral letter of the prelate on the question of the apparitions.

This booklet was, at the time, sold for the benefit of the Sanctuary to be erected instead of the Apparition.
